Pastor Ezekiel Odero of New Life on Friday told the senate adhoc committee that he receives millions from his 45,000 followers.
While answering the question of where he gets his finances, Odero told the committee chaired by Senator Mungatana that everything comes from offerings.
He said he gets the money which is not small from the followers who give at the church during service and some send through their till.
Odero said he has never physically received any of the money from the congregants in his hands but they are physically put at the alter and through the church till.
He said even though they receive millions in offerings they don’t use it for the church benefit alone but for the community as well by building the best International School in the region and paying school fees for the needy.
He said in all these years he has never received any money as funding for the church rather it’s his followers who do so by giving offerings.
Odero asked senate and the state to question other churches where they take their offerings.
