Two Nigerians who duped Kenyan businessman 60 Mcharged

Two Nigerian nationals who duped a Kenyan businessman and made away with over Sh 60 million were on Monday charged.

It is alleged that Ali Ojo and Victor Nyekazi conned Noor Ahmed off Sh 60 Million by lying that they would buy a hotel from him.

The two arraigned before Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi where they denied two counts of cheating and being unlawfully present in Kenya.

According to the charge sheet, on diverse dates between January 20 and May 19 2023 I’m Nairobi CBD they used tricks to obtain USD 420,000.

They lied to him that the money was for the purchase of reagent to clear stamps on US dollars that Noor was to receive as consideration in the sale Lisbon Hotel.

Through their lawyer, they asked court to grant them reasonable bail terms saying they will abide by

However, the prosecution opposed to their release on bail saying they are likely to abscond from court.

Ekhubi said he would deliver the bail ruling on Friday this week.

Meanwhile, the two will be detained in custody pending bail ruling.
