Two boys Kelvin Mbuvi Mutinda and Joseph Kamau Mariga have pleaded guilty to stealing three pairs of jeans from a clothing store in Kibera.
The two appeared before Kibera Chief Magistrate Ann Mwangi where they confessed to stealing the trousers.
It was alleged that on September 28 in Kibera area, Mutinda and Mariga jointly stole the three trousers valued at Sh 2700 the property of Milka Njambi.
The prosecution while presenting facts of the case told court that Njambi the owner of the shop had left her sales person at the shop selling to other customers and stepped out.
The two accused persons then went into the shop and they began engaging the sales person who was in the shop. It is alleged that it was Mariga was one talking to the employee while Mutinda stole the jeans.
Mutinda is also said to have taken the said jeans and attempted to hide them and the salesman quickly alerted the people around who apprehended them and took them to the police.
However, when asked if the facts were correct, Mariga said he had no intention of stealing the trousers claiming that it was Mutinda who took them.
The court changed the plea entered for Mariga to not guilty and released him on a Sh 3000 cash bail.
Mutinda will be presented in court on Friday to allow the prosecution to avail the three jeans in court as exhibits before the court delivers its sentence against him.
