An Estonian investor will testify virtually in the case where shrewd businessman Kirimi Koome is charged with defrauding a Rwandase investor over Sh 391 Million.
Koome appeared before Magistrate BenMark Ekhubi for the pre-trial of his case where he is charged with stealing from Desire Muhinyuza a Rwandese investor associated to StayOnline Ltd.
While taking dates for the trial, Muhinyuza lawyer Danstan Omari said they were ready to proceed at the earliest time possible and expedite the matter.
Omari also asked court to make arrangements for a hybrid trial meaning some witnesses would testify virtually.
He told court that one of the witnesses was an Estonian investor who is also a complainant in the matter.
Magistrate Ekhubi allowed the request and said he would make arrangements for hybrid proceedings.
Last week, Koome withdrew an application he filed at the high court seeking to unfreeze his accounts saying it had been overtaken by events as he had already been charged.
The court has since frozen the money after Muhinyuza said Koome had fraudulently laid claim to his company without any justification.
The case will start trial on November 24.
