A Ugandan househelp who was on run after she was caught on Camera assisting robbers to gain access to her employer’s house has been charged with robbery.
Everline Nabalayo Loice alias Eva was arraigned before Makadara court where she was accused of stealing from her employer in Nairobi’s Eastleigh estate.
She was charged with two robbery charges, including theft of gold.
It was alleged that she violently robbed her employer Hakimo Muhidin Ali of a mobile phone valued at Sh. 30,000.
The court was told that at the time of the said robbery, she was armed with an offensive weapon namely a hammer, which she used to hit at her employer completely distabilizing him.
She was also charged with another count of conspiring with another suspect yet to be arrested to steal a laptop worth Sh. 110,000 and 22 grams of gold worth Sh. 210,000 from the same employer.
She denied the charges and the prosecution asked the the Court to deny her bond saying that she is not a Kenyan national and hence a flight risk who has been on the run since she committed the offense in November last year.
According to the state, Eva was arrested at Kariokor in Nairobi while attempting to board a Kampala bound bus.
The court denied her bail and remanded her at Langata Women Prison pending trial which has been scheduled for March
