Two women were on Thursday charged before a Milimani court with stupefying a man’s drink by putting ‘mchele’ in his drink and stealing over Sh 2.2 million from him.
Mercy Kalondu Muli and Catherine Kathure Murithi were arraigned before Chief Magistrate Benard Ochoi and charged with stupefying with the aim of overpowering a man contrary to section 230 of the Penal Code.
It is alleged that on February 4, 2024 at Loresho Estate in Nairobi, the two administered a stupefying drug to Denis Aluda Jiseve with the aim of overpowering and stealing from him.
After stupefying him, the ladies are said to have proceeded to steal two HP Laptops, one mobile phone make Samsung A53, and Money from Mpesa and Stanbic bank account all totalling to Sh 2.25 million.
The accused denied the charges and were released on Sh 500,000 bond with an alternative Sh 200,000 cash bail.
