Three Men Discharged From Late MP Were’s Murder Case For Lack of Evidence.

Three men who were among individuals who had been arrested in connection with the murder of late Kasipul MP Charles Were have been discharged from the case.

On Thursday the JKIA Magistrate’s Court discharged Juma Ali Haikal, Douglas Muchiri Wambugu, and David Mihigo Kagame.

The prosecution informed the court that the evidence collected did not implicate these three, leading Magistrate Irene Gichobi to release them. This brings the total number of discharged suspects in the case to five.

This comes days after the Makadara Magistrate’s Court had discharged two other suspects, Dennis Sewe Manyasi and Walter Owino Awino, who were also found not to be linked to the murder.

Both are now expected to serve as state witnesses in the ongoing case.

Currently, five suspects remain in custody awaiting mental assessments before formal charges can be read to them .

Additionally, businessman Phillip Aroko has been released on bail.
