Three people were on Monday arraigned before a Nairobi court and charged with being found in possession of forged USD currency.
Raphael Kakule Ojiambo, Samuel Ayako Kerandi and Wilfred Gitonga Kaburu were arraigned before a Milimani Law Court where they denied the charge.
It is alleged that the three were arrested on January 17, 2025 while in possession of 11,783 papers intending the same to resemble and pass as US dollar currency.
Ojiambo and Kerandi were separately charged with conspiring to defraud Festus Jason Ochola a total sum of Sh 4,358,000 by falsely pretending they were in a position to offer him commission after the sale of a mineral called plutonium.
They denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi and were each released on Sh 1m bond with an alternative cash bail of Sh 500,000.
The case will be mentioned on February 10, 2025 for pretrial.
