Three Allies of Juja MP Koimburi in Court for Helping Him Stage Manage His Abduction

Three allies of Juja MP George Koimburi were on Thursday arraigned before a Nairobi court in connection to allegations of faking the abduction of the MP who is currently in hospital.

One of the three includes Juja CDF chairman Peter Kiratu who is alleged to have played a major role in the abduction.

The DCI is seeking 15 days to continue detaining three men among them Mbaru over the alleged abduction Juja legislator George Koimburi.

The detectives claim that the MP was kidnapped from the full gospel Ebenezer church in Mugutha by the who are his close associates but the motive of abducting the mp remains unknown.

According to the miscellaneous application, they argue that releasing the three at this stage will interfere with investigations as the MP is yet to record his statement.

“The allegations have since created panic, fear and sharp political opinion in the entire country
and the concerned constituency which is Cosmopolitan in nature which is a threat to the Peace and
stability of the nation,”reads court papers.

Police say Koimburi remains critically ill as alleged by close friends and family members and the outcome of his illness is not known because the medical doctors are yet to release findings on his health status.

They argue that the matter is of grave National Security Concern and besides being a sitting Member of Parliament, he is allied to the Newly fornred Dernocracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) that is opposing the current Government hence it has elicited heated political opiniotrs that could easily result into serious violence adding that Kidnappirrg is a serious offence under the Penal code.

Similarly the court has been told that preliminary investigations into the allegations reported showed that after the MP evaded his arrest on the 23d day of May, 2025, he safely returned to his Mugutha home and this was confirrned by the fact that the suspects visited him at the said home and he told him that he was intending to seek legal redress to have his vehicle released from the Police.

Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina has directed that the application be heard tommorrow.
