A Nairobi woman has been charged in connection with an alleged plot to defraud a businesswoman of prime city land worth Sh200 million.
Ruth Wambui Kimani appeared before the Milimani Chief Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where she was charged with conspiracy to defraud in a case involving a high-value property along Jogoo Road.
According to the charge sheet filed by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), Kimani, “On unknown dates and at an unknown place within the Republic of Kenya, jointly with another not before court, conspired to defraud Agnes Kagure Kariuki of land parcel L.R No. 209/4843/10 (IR No.15372).”
The disputed parcel measures approximately 0.3252 hectares. The prosecution alleges that Kimani knowingly participated in a fraudulent scheme, an offence contrary to Section 317 of the Penal Code, which criminalizes conspiracy to defraud.
Court records indicate that Kimani was arrested on Friday, November 7, 2025, without a warrant and later presented before the court on Monday, November 10, 2025, where she denied the charges. She was released on a cash bail of Sh100,000.
