Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) have arrested a suspected drug trafficker and seized a massive consignment of narcotics in a well-coordinated operation carried out in Kandara, Murang’a County.
The suspect, Eunice Wangui Kimani, was apprehended at her residence following a tip-off from members of the public. A thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of 13 gunny bags filled with bhang, collectively weighing 225 kilograms and carrying an estimated street value of KSh6.7 million.
Authorities also recovered packaging materials believed to be used for repackaging and distributing the narcotics, signaling the presence of a well-organized trafficking operation.
Kimani is currently in police custody and is undergoing processing ahead of her arraignment in court. The confiscated bhang has been secured as evidence as investigations continue.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has lauded the role played by vigilant members of the public in the successful bust, reiterating their commitment to cracking down on the drug trade across the country.
