Milimani Court Allows Officers Accused of Baby Pendo Murder to Retain Bond Pending Bail Report

In today’s court news, Milimani High Court Judge, Justice Margaret Muigai has allowed the four police officers charged with the 2017 murder of Baby Samantha Pendo among other crimes against humanity to continue enjoying their bond terms for a period of seven days pending probation report on their bail and bond release application.

The four senior police officers; John Chengo Masha, Linah Kogey, Cyprine Robi Wankio and James Rono have since denied the charges of rape, murder, torture among other crimes against humanity.

In allowing the suspects to continue enjoying their bond terms, Justice Margaret Muigai noted that the suspects have been out on bond throughout the investigations and there was no evidence that the suspects ever interfered with the investigations.

However, the judge warned the suspects from interfering with the witnesses and the victims in the case.
