A man who posted defamatory content against ex Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero on his Facebook account was today charged with cyber harassment.
Bonface Omondi Nyangla was arraigned before Principal Magistrate Dolphina Alego for allegedly posting derogatory comments about Kidero and Evance MC Ochieng, on April 20, 2025.
It is alleged that Nyangla made statements in Luo that allegedly depicted Kidero as easily manipulated in violation of Section 27(1)(b) of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act, 2018.
“The accused posted offensive and insulting remarks intended to damage the complainant’s reputation,” the prosecutor told the court.
He denied the offense and pleaded with court to release him on lenient bond terms saying he is the sole breadwinner for his family and that his children were due to return to school, and they depend entirely on him.
Principal Magistrate Alego released him on a bond of Sh 1 million with an alternative cash bail of Sh 400,000.
