A man was on Tuesday charged before Senior Principal Magistrate Dolphina Alego with breaking into an electronics shop at Diamond Plaza II in Parklands, Nairobi, and stealing mobile phones and cash valued at more than Ksh 9.9 million.

Victor Mose Abuga is accused of jointly committing the offence with others not before court on September 16, 2025, at Dreams Collection Limited, an electronics shop within the shopping complex.
According to the charge sheet, the accused allegedly broke into the premises and stole five iPhone SE handsets, three iPhone 16 devices and four iPhone 16e devices. The prosecution further stated that the suspects also broke into a metallic safe and took away Ksh 3.8 million in cash and USD 42,000, all valued at approximately Ksh 9,925,120, being the property of Dreams Collection Limited.

Abuga denied the charge of breaking into a building and committing a felony, contrary to Section 306(a) of the Penal Code. The matter was registered under Police Case Number CR 145/217/2025, with the initial report made at Parklands Police Station.
Magistrate Alego granted the accused bond of Ksh 2 million with two sureties, or alternatively cash bail of Ksh 200,000.

The court further heard that the accused is facing a related criminal matter from 2025, which is scheduled for mention on 9th March 2026, and the prosecution expressed its intention to seek consolidation of the two cases.

The accused remains in custody pending completion of bail processing. The case will be mentioned again on 9th March 2026.
