Thika Chief Magistrate Stella Atambo has refuted claims by EACC that she is corrupt and takes bribes from litigants dismissing the allegations as false.
Atambo, who has served in the judiciary for several years, maintains that she is innocent and has vowed to challenge EACC move.
Through her lawyers Danstan Omari, Sam Nyaberi and Shadrack Wambui, Atambo has questioned the manner in which EACC obtained the search warrants saying they misled the court by non disclosure of certain information.
Earlier today EACC issued a statement that they recovered Sh 2 M cash during the early morning raid at Atambo house.
However, Atambo has refuted these claims, stating that the money belongs to her husband and insisting that the commission should return the cash to its rightful owner.
The anti-corruption agency claims that it has launched a probe into multiple complaints alleging that Atambo demands bribes from accused persons in criminal cases in exchange for favorable rulings.
