The High Court has set directions in a habeas corpus petition filed over the mysterious disappearance of Wajir Huduma Centre boss, Hussein Abdirahman Mohamed.
The petition, filed jointly by Abdirahman’s family and Abdiwahab Mohamed seeks to compel the State to produce him dead or alive following his unexplained disappearance.
Justice Chacha Mwita has directed that the pleadings in the case be served immediately. The court further scheduled a directions hearing for July 17, 2025.
The petition has named as respondents the State Law Office, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and two other state entities. The urgency of the application highlights growing public concern over rising cases of enforced disappearances and accountability for security agencies.
The penal notice attached to the court order warns of legal consequences for any disobedience, signaling the court’s seriousness in ensuring compliance with its directives.
The whereabouts of Hussein Abdirahman remain unknown, sparking protests and calls for transparency from human rights groups and political leaders.
