High Court Restores Security for Governor Natembeya.

The High Court has granted a major reprieve to Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya after issuing conservatory orders compelling the government to immediately reinstate his full security detail.

In the interim ruling, the court directed the Respondents to stop any further actions that would reduce, alter, or interfere with the Governor’s security arrangements until the case is heard fully. The orders also extend to the second interested party, whose security had similarly been withdrawn.

The court issued a mandatory conservatory order requiring the Respondents jointly and severally to “forthwith reinstate and restore the security detail and arrangements of the 1st Interested Party and the 2nd Interested Party in the numbers, composition, and particulars as they existed immediately before the impugned actions.”

The judge noted that the decision to strip the leaders of their protection required urgent judicial intervention to prevent exposure to potential harm while the dispute proceeds.

The orders will remain in force pending the inter partes hearing and determination of the Petitioner’s Notice of Motion dated November 28, 2025.

The petition challenges the sudden withdrawal of security from the Governor and the second leader, arguing that the move was punitive, unlawful and contrary to established protocols governing the protection of high-ranking public officials.

The court will now hear the matter inter partes before issuing further directions
