The Anti-Corruption Court in Nairobi has acquitted former Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero, former County Finance Chief Jimmy Kiamba, ex-County Secretary Lilian Ndegwa, and several others in a Ksh 213 million corruption case due to insufficient evidence.
In his ruling, Milimani Anti-Corruption Court Magistrate Victor Wakumile determined that the prosecution failed to substantiate 17 graft charges against Kidero and his nine co-accused over alleged payments made to two companies for goods and services that were never delivered.
“With regard to counts one through seventeen, all the accused persons are hereby acquitted under Section 210 of the Criminal Procedure Code,” stated Magistrate Wakumile Ndururu.
However, the court found former Nairobi County Head of Accounting, Stephen Ogago Osiro to a case to answer, noting that the prosecution had presented enough evidence to warrant his response to the charges.
