Former Lamu senator Loitiptip charged with 6 M fraud over a car sale deal.

Former Lamu senator Anwar Loitiptip was on Thursday charged before a Milimani law court with fraud overa Sh 6 million car sale agreement that he was involved in.

Anwar was charged with three counts of obtaining money by false pretense, forgery and uttering of a false document.

It is alleged that on August 3 last year at Kileleshwa in Kilimani with intent to defraud, he obtained from Samson Malonza a sum Sh 6 M by falsely pretending that he was in a position to sell to him a motor vehicle Landcruiser V8.

He was also denied two counts of making a false document and uttering a false a false document.

Anwar denied the charges before Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe and pleaded with the court to release him on reasonable bond terms.

He was released on a Sh 1 M bond or an alternative cash bail of Sh 700,000.
