Former Member of Parliament Hon. Sammy Silas Komen Mwaita has been arrested in Kilimani, Nairobi, over his alleged involvement in a high-stakes land fraud case.
According to authorities, Mwaita is facing multiple charges, including, Conspiracy to commit a felony, Making a document without authority,Abuse of office and
Giving false information to a person employed in the public service
His arrest follows fresh directions from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) in relation to the fraudulent dealings involving two prime plots in Nairobi West, located along Mai Mahiu Roadproperties said to be worth millions of shillings.
Mwaita is currently in custody and being processed for arraignment. Meanwhile, detectives have launched a manhunt for his alleged accomplice.
The case adds to growing scrutiny over land fraud schemes in Kenyaโs urban centers, with law enforcement intensifying efforts to crack down on such syndicates.
He is expected to be presented to court on Monday morning .
