Evelyn Cheluget Wins Top Border Security Award at 2nd Instinct Women Conference 2026

The Director General of Immigration, Evelyn Cheluget, has been recognized as the Border Security Personnel of the Year during the 2nd Instinct Women Conference and Awards 2026.

Cheluget received the prestigious award in honour of her leadership and efforts in strengthening Kenya’s border security systems and improving efficiency within the immigration department. The recognition highlights her role in advancing reforms, enhancing surveillance measures, and spearheading digitization initiatives aimed at safeguarding the country’s borders.

Under her stewardship, the department has embraced technology-driven solutions that have improved service delivery, enhanced security operations, and streamlined travel documentation processes. Her leadership has been widely credited with boosting operational effectiveness while maintaining the integrity of Kenya’s immigration framework.

The award ceremony celebrated outstanding women leaders making significant impact in their respective fields, with Cheluget standing out for her contribution to national security and public service.

Evelyn Cheluget was assigned the role of Director General of Immigration Services effective 15th May 2023. She is a career Immigration Officer having joined the Department of Immigration in 1994 as Immigration Officer and has risen through the ranks to helm of the institution.
