Debt Collector Brian Yongo was on Tuesday arraigned before a Nairobi court and charged with threatening to kill businessman Rajendra Sanghani.
Yongo appeared before Magistrate BenMark Ekhubi where he denied the charge of threatening to kill.
According to the police, Yongo on April 12 this year threatened to Kill Rajendra Sanghani, the Managing director of Granada Trading company.
It is alleged that he uttered very harsh words to the complainant suggesting that he would send goons to execute him and that he had powerful people in the government who would protect him.
The prosecution claim that on April at unknown place within the Republic of Kenya, he uttered words to wit “My friend in spring valley there, I want to send you visitors, tonight don’t sleep, I want to show you…you say you were shot in the eye, I want to show you I know people who shoot…I swear upon my mother, this one even Sonko will not help you…”
Yongo was further charged with another count of cyber harassment for sending offending messages to the said businessman suggesting that his wife was having an affair with other men.
Yongo denied all the counts and pleaded with the court to grant him lenient terms.
However the court said it will deliver the ruling on a later date.
