Court Issues Warrant of Arrest Against Activist Boniface Mwangi for Skipping Court.

A Nairobi court has issued a warrant of arrest against activist Boniface Mwangi after he failed to appear in court to take a plea for assaulting a cop in April.

Mwangi was supposed to appear in court today to respond to allegations of assaulting a police officer but he did not turn up as scheduled.

According to the charge sheet, it is alleged that on the April 2,2025, at the Metropolitan Court in the Kilimani area within Dagoretti Sub-County, Nairobi County, Mwangi willfully and unlawfully assaulted No. 218181 Sgt. Osman Omar, a police officer acting in the execution of his duties, thereby causing him actual bodily harm.

In a separate count, it is alleged that on the April 2 2025, at the same location, Mwangi also willfully and unlawfully assaulted No. 87673 PC Robert Oyola, another police officer performing his duties, occasioning him actual bodily harm.

Further, it is alleged that on the April 2 2025, at the Metropolitan Court along Airwing Kodhek Road in the Kilimani area, Dagoretti Sub-County, Nairobi County, Mwangi, while in a public place, used abusive language directed at Sgt. Osman Omar, with the intent to provoke a breach of the peace.

The court has directed that the matter be mentioned on the 14th of next month before to take directions on it.
