A Nairobi court has issued interim orders barring media personality Alex Mwakideu and his sister Rozina Mwakideu from further publishing or sharing a controversial interview video in which Rozina claimed that her biggest mistake in life was marrying Pastor Robert Burale.
Milimani Commercial Chief Magistrate Thomas Nzyoki directed that the duo refrain from making any additional publications or commentaries related to the disputed video until the defamation case filed by Pastor Burale is heard and determined.
“An order for interim injunction is granted to stay the defendants (Alex and Rozina Mwakideu) from any further publication of the complained video on any social media platform pending the hearing and determination of the application,” ruled Magistrate Nzyoki.
However, the court declined Pastor Burale’s plea to have the video deleted or pulled down from online platforms, noting that the current order only restricts fresh publications and does not affect content already posted.
Lawyer Ochiel Dudley, appearing for the Mwakideus, told the court that his clients will fully comply with the directive.
The matter will be mentioned on February 25, 2026, to confirm the filing of submissions.
