Businessman Mohammed Khalif Hassan Charged with Ksh 8 Million Spaghetti Fraud

Businessman Mohammed Khalif Hassan has been charged in court over an alleged Ksh 8.5 million fraud involving a fake spaghetti import deal.

Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Robinson Ondieki, Hassan denied the charges.

According to the charge sheet, Hassan is accused of defrauding Osman Mohamed Ali of Ksh 8,512,700 between February 18, 2023, and May 21, 2024, at an undisclosed location within the country. He allegedly obtained the money by falsely claiming he could import spaghetti for the complainant a promise he knew was false.

The court granted Hassan a cash bail of Ksh 700,000 or an alternative bond of Ksh 2 million with two sureties of a similar amount.
