Court directs Justice David Majanja estate dispute to be placed before presiding judge

The High Court has directed that the succession dispute involving the estate of David Majanja be urgently placed before the presiding judge, citing the deteriorating health of one of the beneficiaries.

The court was told that Gerishon Majanja, a beneficiary in the matter, is bedridden and in poor health, prompting a request for the case to be fast-tracked.

The matter was last mentioned before Chemitei, who had directed the parties to file additional documents to clarify outstanding issues in the case.

During the virtual session, counsel appearing for Gerishon Majanja and Jason Oudo, who represents the beneficiaries Janet Majanja, Louis Majanja and Allan Majanja, urged the court to fast-track the proceedings, arguing that the beneficiary’s medical condition could not allow for further delays.

The court was also informed that the father of Justice David Majanja appeared during the virtual hearing.

It was explained that the beneficiary’s health status had made it urgent for the dispute to be heard without further postponement.

The court acknowledged the urgency and directed that the file be placed before the presiding judge for immediate attention.

All parties were instructed to log in before the presiding judge for further directions, as the court signalled that the matter should now proceed without delay.
