The Milimani Law Courts has once again postponed the delivery of judgment in a case involving suspects charged with robbery with violence in connection with the 2015 murder of former Kabete Member of Parliament George Muchai.
The case, which involves Erick Muyera, Raphael Kimani, Mustapha Kimani, Stephen Astiva, Jane Wanjiru, Margaret Njeri, and Simon Wambugu, came up for judgment before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina after the seven accused closed their defence in October 2025.
However, the magistrate adjourned the Judgement, stating that he had not yet completed reviewing all the volumes of evidence presented by both the prosecution and the defence.
The seven suspects are accused of robbing Michael Gituto of a motor vehicle and other personal items valued at Sh416,000. They are also linked to the brutal killing of former MP George Muchai, alongside his two bodyguards, Samuel Kalikia and Samuel Matanta, and his driver, Stephen Wambugu.
A different court had previously ruled in 2023 that the accused had a case to answer in relation to the robbery with violence charges. Some of the suspects were also found to have a case to answer for the murder of Muchai and his aides, who were attacked along Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi on the night of February 6–7, 2015.
Chief Magistrate Onyina is now expected to deliver judgment in the robbery with violence case on February 10, 2026.
