Popular TikToker Mosquito Arrested in Mombasa Over alleged Seditious Video

Detectives have arrested Shedrack Omondi Okindo, popularly known online as Hon. Mosquito, for allegedly publishing a seditious video that went viral on TikTok on August 1, 2025.

The video, which reportedly contained inciteful remarks and threats to public order, sparked outrage and drew the attention of national security agencies.

Acting on forensic intelligence, officers traced and arrested Okindo at a residence in Miritini, Mombasa County. During a search, detectives recovered two pairs of military-style tactical fatigues, three mobile phones, and a notebook bearing the phrase: β€œWe are going to apply guerrilla resistance tactics – Justice to all freedom heroes.”

Officials also retrieved assorted documents believed to be linked to the Justice Direction Party.

Okindo is currently in police custody as investigations continue ahead of his expected arraignment.
