Six individuals accused of involvement in the murder of Albert Ojwang are set to take a plea tomorrow.
Among the accused are three police officers Nairobi Central Police Station OCS Samson Kiprotich Taalam, Police Constable James Mukhwana, and Officer Peter Kimani as well as three civilians: John Ngige Gitau, Gin Ammitou Abwao, and Brian Mwaniki Njue.
The suspects appeared before Lady Justice Diana Kavedza at the Kibera High Court, but the plea was postponed to allow the Judiciary’s Deputy Registrar to appoint pro bono legal representation for two of the suspects who cannot afford lawyers.
The six are alleged to have been involved in Ojwangโs death while he was in police custody.
He had been arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at his home in Homa Bay, following a cyberbullying complaint filed by Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat.
