Juja MP to Appear in Court Over Alleged Land Fraud

Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi Ndungu has been summoned to appear in court on June 24, 2025, to face charges connected to an alleged land fraud case.

Ndungu will be charged alongside Shelmith Maina and Gathii Irungu. According to the proposed charge sheet, the three, together with others not yet before the court, are accused of conspiring to defraud a parcel of land identified as RUIRU EAST/JUJA EAST BLOCK 2/36. The land, owned by Julius Gitonga Githinji, measures approximately 1.310 hectares and is reportedly worth KES 10 million.

The trio also faces charges of obtaining land registration through false pretenses, in violation of Section 320 of the Penal Code. The prosecution alleges that the suspects unlawfully secured registration of the property on or before March 26, 2020, at the Thika District Land Registry in Kiambu County.

Additionally, they are expected to be charged with uttering false documents related to the same land, allegedly with the intent to defraud.

The case is scheduled for mention on June 24, 2025.
