A parent at St Bakhita School in Nairobi has sued the school seeking for damages after his daughter was allegedly subjected to a vicious attack by a Kiswahili teacher leading to visible injuries and psychological trauma.
The father who is seeking for damages has sued the school saying they should be held liable as the assault took place in the school.

He holds the school’s board of directors liable for the incident, claiming they failed in their duty of care.
It is alleged that the Grade 5 pupil was assaulted by a Kiswahili teacher during a lesson.
The said teacher pulled the girl’s left ear, causing visible injuries. She was treated at a hospital and later discharged.
The petition further states that the teacher’s actions were deliberate, premeditated, and intended to cause extreme pain and suffering. It also notes that the child continues to attend hospital for routine medical check-ups.
Through their lawyer, Wycliffe Nyabuto, the father wants the court to declare the Kiswahili teacher unfit to teach anywhere in Kenya.
